? Cause: Allergy might be a cause of lip swelling as well. However, as your doctor based his treatment on visual assessment, I would suggest to stick to his plan Hope your husband gets well soon

If: The swelling and pain go away then all is well. If they persist or get worse, see your dentist right away. It may be a tooth or gum infection which will need more than antibiotics to treat.
