May Never Occur: The test is for the antibodies to the Herpes Simplex Virus which indicates past exposure to the virus. Not everyone will manifest symptoms. HSV-1 can also be a source of Genital Herpes, so an oral outbreak may not occur if this was not the original site of exposure.
