A member asked:

What is life expectancy esophagus cancer with mets to bones, sick for 6 months and got mets about 2months ago, he is 63 years old no chemo/radiation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: A lot depends on whether the patient can take nourishment or whether there is complete obstruction of the esophagus or whether major organs like liver or lungs are involved or significant bleeding occurs. If any of these are present life expectancy is measured in weeks. However, his oncologist who knows all the findings, is best qualified to answer your question.
