Talk to your doc: You need to discuss with your doctor re. the risks and benefit from taking cholesterol-lowering drugs. I am amazed at how high your HDL is (which is a good thing). There are benefits and potential adverse effects from taking statins and thus whether a cholesterol-lowing drug should be taken may depend on other risk factors such as hypertension , diabetes, family history etc.
