Qtips push wax in...: Never use Qtips to "clean the ear" as this actually pushes the earwax down deeper into the ear canal potentially against the eardrum which as you have discovered is extremely uncomfortable. This dried compacted earwax pressing against the eardrum will require an ENT or experienced family doctor to mechanically remove the earwax, then inspect the eardrum for possible injury. Don't delay. Go now.
