Is it true a cortisone/steroid shot in shoulder can affect my baby lungs? i'm 6 months pregnant and i been looking for information to make sure it's safe during pregnancy, since i don't see my ogyn till the 15th and ortho appt this week for the shot.

Steroid shots: Steroid injections like Dexamethasone and Betamethasone are given to pregnant women at risk of preterm delivery to help the babies lung mature faster. It is beneficial to give steroids in these circumstances. Cortisone is a different steroid and is not used for this purpose. If your doctor thinks that it is an appropriate use for your shoulder then it can be given.
