Anything physical: That he/she will do reliably for about 30-45 minutes (or longer) just about every day. Also depends on age--older kids have better coordination and get less frustrated with more complex activities than younger ones.

What kid loves to do: Any exercise is good, but the exercise that the child loves to do alone -( dance, running, swimming, biking) or in a team with others - who the child wants to be with will work.

Exercise in kids: It is very important to be active at all age, especially during formative years. A 10 years old should participate in any sport s/he likes on a regular basis. However, if they don't want to participate in organized sports, they can be active with their family or siblings. Consider games such as tag, etc or simple go running/joggig and do it consistenetly for 1 hr daily.
