Dr. told me i have "early stage gum disease". gums are receeded a little (k9 tooth & another below it). how long to floss til it goes back to normal?

Difficult to Answer: Gingival recession can be a perplexing problem to treat. Flossing in itself may not resolve and restore the gingival recession associated with your teeth. A periodontist (dental specialist who treats disorders of the tissues supporting the teeth) may be able to offer you some options for restoring the gingival recession.

Recession & Flossing: Good day; Interdental flossing will toughen (caritenize) the gingival tissue between the teeth. Expect the tissue to become firmer, bleed less and and ahhere to the underlying bone. However, the recession will not return to the previous level unless gingival grafts are placed.

Recession: Gum recession with underlying bone loss is usually result of bacterial infection. Improving your oral hygiene (review technique w Dentist or Hygienist) will halt the recession, but not regrow tissue. Your Dentist can refer you to specialist Periodontist for gum reshaping.
