Yes to some: Pravachol (pravastatin) is a statin that will reduce triglycerides (not too much though) and raise HDL (again not too much. As far as metabolic syndrome- this includes diabetes as well as high bp, etc. These will not likely to be helped by a statin. They should be treated with appropriate meds or life style changes (diet and exercise).

Not Everything!: Pravachol (pravastatin) is a statin that is good for lowering LDL (bad chol) and increasing HDL (good chol). It does not do much for trig. Or metabolic syndrome. You may not want to hear it, but exercise and weight loss will help with metabolic syndrome. Exercise increases HDL and weight loss should help decrease trig and help with bs abnormalities.
