Pretty good!: Fact: Cold sores on the mouth or face are caused by HSV-1 and are commonly transmitted to the genitals (causing genital herpes) through oral to genital sex. Up to 40% of genital herpes is caused by HSV-1. 50% of people getting herpes get it from partners who are unaware they have it (i.e. no sores) http://www.herpes.org.nz/patient-info/myths-vs-facts/

Possible: It is possible for HSV 1 to be transmitted through oral sex. The good news is that if the partner gets it, it is usually not recurrent like HSV 2 would be. The actual chance of transmission is fairly low since there was no current outbreak.
