Mucous in stool: Yes it is normal to have mucus in the stool after a diarrhea event. It appears your diarrhea came from either an infection or element the intestine was sensitive to. To protect itself it makes mucus. When the diarrhea clears and the cause of the diarrhea is gone the bowel wilslowly stop making the mucus and you will not see it any further in the stool. mucus represents irritation of the bowel.
