Consider the ER: Heartburn can cause pains in the mid chest and back, but depending on your age, other medical conditions, and other symptoms, there can be a concern for other things. If it's worse laying down, after meals, eating spicy/ acidic foods, then likely to be heartburn. Also if related to food can be pancreatitis or ring in esophagus. Most concerning is heart attack though. Consider clinic/ ER.
