High bilirubin worry: worrisome. Not knowing your medical history, I suggest strongly that you see your physician to determine whether you in fact have progressive hepatic fibrosis and whether your hemochromatosis was in fact successfully treated, and/or to determine the cause of your hyperbilirubinemia.

My blood test showed: high bilirubin (4.5), low platelets (136), high iron saturation (80%), high iron (237), low UIBC (60), normal ferritin (252). Can any of these be ruled out: Gilberts Syndrome, hemochromatosis, hemolytic anemia?
Negative genetic test for hemochromatosis. Normal to LOW ferritin. Iron saturation severely elevated at 70%. Iron serum as well. Transferritin Normal. What cases this. ?? Causes ? Repeated multiple times. No supplements?

53 y/o Female TIBC 247 (250-450ug/dL UIBC 173, IRON 74, Iron sat 30, Ferritin 195 (15-150 ng/ml) sed rate 6, C-reactive protein 8. A month later my ferritin level is 246. Does this warrant hemochromatosis testing? Ive tested over 200 for months.
