A member asked:

A baby's risk of cancer does not change when he gets several typical x-rays, what do several typical x-rays mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

1 to 5 x-rays: Normal babies (from birth up to his first birthday) might get sick with pneumonia, an abdominal problem, or have a suspected fracture in the arms, legs, hands, or feet. Those are some examples of problems in which a few x-rays might be done. From that viewpoint, normal babies are unlikely to get more than 5 x-rays. Most babies do not get any at all. As always, do x-rays only when medically needed.
