Risk of infection : When the timing of sex is around the mentrual cycle and there is significant pain afterwards, especially if associated with fever there is an increased risk of infection called pelvic inflammatory disease or PID. This is associated with chlamydia and gonorrhea. Also urinary tract infections are more common in general with sex. If these symptoms persist see a doctor for further assessment & treat.
