RICE method: Studies show rest, ice,heat (modalities) and Physical Therapy are beneficial for back pain. You probably have back sprain from some activity that requires rest to heal. However a full medical history and exam are needed. For instance, if you have had trauma or have scoliosis or other contributing factors we need to know. With low back pain, studies show yoga is effective, as is physical therapy.
