Need to find cause: Singulair is a good medicine, but only if the cough is allergy induced. You need to find out the cause of your cough first. Singulair will not help at all for a post-viral cough, or a cough related to heartburn/reflux. Even if asthma, Singulair rarely helps if it is the only medication prescribed. See your primary care physician again for further evaluation.
