spots of dry skin on forearms...itchy...i scratched them..and now they are red welts?

Dermatographism: When the skin welts up after scratching, it is call dermatographism. Antihistamine often helps control this condition. Sometimes dry skin can cause it as well and you may try applying a moisturizer to the area especially right after bathing to see if this helps.
