Call your surgeon: Elective surgery will be cancelled for fever. Call your surgeon and report your current symptoms, you might need an appointment, exam and treatment for this problem, separate from your surgical diagnosis. Good luck.

Maybe: Signs of an active infection will almost certainly lead to a delay in an elective surgery, that is one that the timing has some flexibility. Even without a fever, a severely sore throat will be worrisome to your anesthesiologist as this increases the risk of breathing problems during and after surgery.
