Atenolol: Atenolol is not a blood pressure medication and should not be used for this purpose. Get your doctor to change it to a real blood pressure medication.

If symptomatic : Should be okay at 102/51, maybe a bit low depending on what your norm is and if you have symptoms such as dizziness. Atenolol can be used for hypertension but it is also used for certain heart conditions and treatment of hyperthyroidism. Better options are usually available, but if there is a contraindication to other medications or if cost is an issue, atenolol may certainly be used.
