Copper IUD may best : The copper intrauterine devices like the ParaGard IUD are quite effective for postcoital emergency contraception up to 5 days after unprotected sexual-genital intercourse and may be best for you. They can be left in place for 10 years. I suspect that the hormones in Plan B taken once may have a minimal effect on your thyroid functions but you will not know till your endocrinologist office opens.
