Hi. my mother has constant pain in her left foot metatarsal bone which worsens with excessive walking. her second toe also seems to be bending towards the big toe.

Why are you waiting?: The symptoms that your mother is having leads one to believe that there is likely a problem and left untreated it may become a serious problem. The second toe migrating to the big toe is problematic in that swelling or tissue rupture may be the cause. There is also the possibility of a stress fracture. She needs to have her foot evaluated and given some direction on the treatment plan.
