Depends on biology: The rate at which a tumor grows depends on the degree of differentiation. A tumor that is poorly differentiated usually has a shorter doubling time, i.e. Grows faster. If you think about a single cancer cell doubling every 100 days, it would take 10 years for the tumor to be visible on CT scan at 1 cm and weigh 1 gram. But it would only take another 2 yeas for it to get to 128 grams and be 5 cm
