Ankle swelling: This is somewhat complex to answer what is going on. If no history of injury has ever occurred including a ankle sprain then it could be a possible blood clot. But the more likely answer to this is that you have torn the ankle ligaments or a tendon. I would recommend seeing a foot and ankle specialist and get an MRI done.
