A member asked:

1 of my foot swell(left) from the ankle to the toes.when i put pressure on 1 spot with a finger for a while it reacts like a sponge(the fluid spreads to other places then plumps up again).foot & pelvic sonar came back clear.what could be the problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Edema= swelling: with accumulation of fluid, usually in the lower extremities. If you are leaving "dents" after pushing on the foot, this is called pitting edema and deserves clinical exam and evaluation.
