A member asked:

I cleansed eczema on my face with an alcohol wipe then applied betamathasone 0.05% to reddened areas. just want my skin to clear up already. bad idea?

Moisturize!: If you have eczema, you must keep your skin moist. Anything that dries your skin will irritate it more (alcohol wipes are included here). Most dermatologists recommend inert emollients, such as vaseline. Strong steroids, such as betamethasone, need close monitoring and direction by a physician, particularly on the face where desonide is usually preferred.
