Was holding trigger on a carpet cleaner Saturday and when done my thumb was swollen and looked bruised at the base. Could hardly bend it. Been icing it and pain is much less but joint still looks swollen. Should I get an X-ray? Is this serious?
Year-long pain and swelling between L index & thumb MCP joints. X-ray is normal. Rheumatoid Factor,uric acid,CRP,ESR normal. autoimune screen neg. Pain worse in the mornings and improves during the day. No history of injury. Diff diag? 55y.o female?
