Sleeping position: You noticed pain after sleep. You note neck pain is better but arm pain now. This most likely represents sleeping and stress on neck and shoulder. If you have no allergies you can try a non steroidal to decrease the pain. Try getting a comfortable pillow and bed. Exercise and see if you can return to normal Sooner.

Most likely yes: Could be from muscle spasm or pinched nerve is severe. Keep neck and arm/shoulder warm at night. Hot packs may help
