I have always been a regular, and my husband and i have been trying to get pregnant. now this month i have a late period, i have had a missed period for a week now, but i take a pregnancy test and it comes out negative. is it too soon for me to take it?

Depends: Urine pregnancy tests rely on hormones generated by the developing conceptus to turn positive. It takes time for these to come out in any quantity.The first morning urine is the most concentrated and a good sample. If you were exposed and worried, another test or two are warranted. Some women just skip a cycle occasionally, followed by a heavy one.
