Personal preference: There is little difference between -3.75 and -4.00 diopters, and likewise between -2.75 and -3.00 diopters of correction. That means one's glasses should still work fine, but if wanting new glasses, one can have a pair made with the new prescription. Occasionally, a person might end up liking her old prescription better because she's grown used to her old glasses.
