A member asked:

What causes sinus tachycardia and is there any real fix or cure for it besides beta blockers? i take metoprolol twice daily but they don't help much.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many causes: Beside being a primary "fast rhythm" other causes include pain, exercise, albuterol (breathing treatment), fever, hyperthyroidism and some other serious problems. Metoprolol may be "short acting" (depending on the dose) Atenolol may last longer.
