Gentle laxatives: At this age frequency of poos is variable depending on baby's diet, 'constipation' is often seen at time of weaning from breast or to solids. If baby isn't distressed by poos (all babies will grunt & push a bit - normal) or if poos are hard, give extra water to drink. Gentle laxatives such as docusate drops, prune juice or lactulose are OK but always give water as well. See "kidshealth.org.nz"

Constipation: Make sure with your pediatrician your child is actually constipated before you try to treat it, then treat with doctor suggestion , more liquid in diet ( not plain water) or try dark corn syrup 1/2 tsp 1-2 x a day
