Internet Consult: Your problems will require a detailed comparison of radiographs taken over the past few years as well as a comprehensive summary of your treatment. Without this information a meaningful answer to your question is not possible. Your best bet is to take all of this information to a local periodontist or endodontist, someone who can actually examine you and treat you.

Complex answer: You have presented a complex question that really needs a comprehensive evaluation and review of prior dental records. It is unusual for restorations to cause that kind of pocketing but it is something that obviously needs evaluation and treatment. If you have concerns about the care you received then a 2nd opinion is indicated to confirm the findings or to find someone you can have confidence.

Acute pockets: While unusual there are times when open contact points and food impaction can result in acute periodontal pocketing. That is not to say that's the cause of your problem. Assume no medical contributing factor. If your own dentist can't supply you with a reasonable rationale, I recommend you see a Periodontist who can compare past x-rays to solve the mystery.
