Urinalysis: Leucocyte esterase comes from white blood cells - infection fighters. Having these cells in your urine when there is no infection likely means that they are coming from the area surrounding your urethra - vagina, vulva as possibilities - if this was a specimen collected by urinating in a cup. If they are in cathed urine then they were either in your bladder or snuck on to the catheter mistakenly.
