Pain meds: As physicians, we are obligated to treat patient's pain. On the other hand, we want to make sure that the medicines we use have the least amount of side effects as possible. Opiate medication such as hydrocodone may lead to tolerance which means that as time goes on more medication will be required to control the pain. Alternatives such as medical cannabis may be used. I recommend an evaluation by a rheumatologist.
