May : be not. Prilosec and other proton pump inhibitors have been associated with increased risk of chronic kidney disease. No causal relationship has been established. Though proton pump inhibitors could cause acute kidney disease it is unclear the relationship with chronic disease. My humble thought is avoiding NSAIDS, BP control, DM control and healthy diet will reduce risk
