A member asked:

It is rare pink eye in a healthy adult? i never caught it after my 8 years, now i'm 28, but i'm worried about it now.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unusual: "Pink eye" is a viral inflammation of the conjunctival lining of the eye similar to ordinary cold of the throat. It is spread by direct contact for instance someone with the condition wipes their, then opens a door with the same hand. Then an innocent person comes by and opens that door, gets the virus on their hand and wipes their eye, spreading the virus to themselves.
