Depends: It depends on how the stiff neck occurred and when. If there was some trauma then usually recommend ice immediately after injury for 20 to 30 minutes then every 2 to 4 hours for 2 days. If old then recommend heat for 30 minutes every 2 hours if bad or low grade continuous but do not burn yourself. Everyone has their own recommendations for this. I hope this will help.
