Enbrel allergy: Any drug can cause an allergic reaction. Etanercept is given as an injection under the skin. As a result, patients may develop local injection site reactions. These included local pain, redness, swelling, and itching. If a pain develops new symptoms in areas other than the injection site, this is something your rheumatologist should be aware of. I would be happy to consult if you desire.
