Yes: It is always a matter of risks and benefits. A woman with well controlled rheumatoid arthritis might consider trying holding etanercept during pregnancy and waiting to see if her arthritis flares or not. Someone with active arthritis might choose to continue etanercept rather than risk deteriorating. The pregnancy data are encouraging; this is a relatively safe RA drug in pregnancy.
