Prove-it trial of pts w acs had avg entry ldl110 w only 25%on statins-most had nl. chol, off drugs and had mi. is chol wrong focus for rx? ca?oxid?

No: This is an excellent question and very complicated. Cholesterol is not the wrong focus- but it is only one factor. Inflammation and related markers are very important. So once you get LDL < 100 or <70 depending on goal, then we must focus on inflammatory markers, Insulin resistance, weight, diet, exercise. Human beings are dynamic and multidimensional and to focus only on cholesterol is wrong.
