Entamoeba histolytica is a parasite that causes the parasitic infection called Amebiasis. It is found in tropical areas with poor sanitation & transmission is primarily fecal- oral. Only 10 to 20 % of those infected feel sick. Sx's: loose stool, abdominal pain/ cramping & when more severe can cause bloody stool & fever. More rarely it can form liver abscess or impact brain.
