Luminal agents can be used for symptomatic amebiasis in non-endemic areas. Antibiotic choices are also made based on if invasive or not. Meds may include Metronidazole (Flagyl),Tinidazole, Paromomycin, Iodoquinol (Yodoxin), Chloroquine phosphate (Aralen) or Dehydroemetine (Mebadin).
