Normal variation: What you described is consistent with normal variations in menstrual periods. If you had unprotected sex since your last period, you may wish to do a home pregnancy test. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor.
