Heart Murmur: A heart murmur is a sound heard by a stethoscope made by the vibration of blood flow. It can be a normal finding in young healthy people, or can represent abnormal leakage (regurgitation) of a valve, valve narrowing (stenosis), or a congenital condition such as an atrial septal defect, a ventricular septal defect, or patent ductus arteriosus.
