On 25mg of sertraline for anxiety,been on this for weeks,doc said to go up to 50mg after 1 week,too scared because of side effects i got with 25mg!?

Dosage effects: If you had side effects from starting the 25mg, it is possible that there may be side effects from increasing the dosage. If those side effects are too severe, you may want to consider a different antidepressant. There are many other options . If you cannot increase the dose because of side effects, you will have limited positive effects because you won't be at a therapeutic (helpful) dose.

Call doctor: If you have bad side effects with any drug, you should not increase it without having checked with your doctor first. This is the time for you to call and the likelihood is that you will be given a different drug.
