Migraine?: Reucrrent headache with vomiting usually is migraine. He should see a doctor experienced in diagnosing and treating migraine, ideally a neurologist; effective prevention and treatment are available. Recurrent meningitis due to herpes ("Molleret's meningitis") could do this if he has herpes due to HSV2, but much less likely than migraine, especially if each episode clears up within a day.
