Yes indeed: HSV2 certainly can infect the mouth in this situation. Even when you have no symptoms, you must tell all partners that you have genital herpes before having sex with them, oral or gential. And for sure you should not have had sex with a known outbreak! You need to tell him ASAP so he can be on the lookout for symptoms and get care immediately if he gets sore throat, oral sores, etc.
