A member asked:

I had my knee drained not all fluid was drained. pa did not want to stick me again. knee did not come back to normal. fluid left in cause problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Knee fluid: The knee may not be any better or worse off if there is residual fluid as long as infection isn't present and left untreated. The analysis of the fluid will help rule out infection, gout, or pseudogout. If the knee was painful because of tense fluid buildup, removing some fluid may relieve discomfort.
