Gerd: Gastroenteritis can be followed by irritable bowel syndrome which may or may not eventually resolve. It shouldn't cause new onset of chronic gerd as the latter is due to structural or functional abnormality of the valve between the esophagus and stomach. You may have some temporary reflux during the acute phase of gastritis however.
